My dog, Bella, delivered six adorable puppies. Have you ever watched a dog deliver puppies? It is both fascinating, yet scary with moments of awe and anxiety. I had been preparing for this day for weeks, but nothing truly prepares you for witnessing such a miraculous event!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bella started delivering her puppies at 8:45 AM on a Thursday morning in May.&nbsp; Leading up to Bella\u2019s big day, I had taken her to her veterinarian the prior week for an x-ray to determine how many puppies to expect. Unfortunately, due to a shadow in Bella\u2019s womb, the veterinarian could not determine if there were 5 or 6 puppies. That uncertainty made me both excited and a little anxious.&nbsp; I had no idea what challenges might arise, but I was determined to be ready to support my Bella if she needed help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the first puppy arrived, Bella knew exactly what to do. I was amazed. It is not like she went to school or watched a video on YouTube to learn what to do. My Bella just followed her natural instincts.&nbsp; As the 1<sup>st<\/sup> puppy came out of Bella\u2019s womb, she immediately started licking her newborn puppy, removing the membrane and chewing the umbilical cord. It was incredible to see how Bella just knew what to do. I had prepared for most scenario\u2019s with scissors, gloves, and even dental floss to tie off cords if needed. But Bella did not need any help. She had everything under control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to information I read on the internet, some dogs have 1-2 hours between births. But not, Bella. Her 2<sup>nd<\/sup> puppy was born about 10 minutes later. Bella cleaned the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> puppy like she cleaned the first puppy. I had a chart to track each puppy, and I noted each puppy\u2019s time of birth and birth weight. things were moving quickly<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bella\u2019s 3<sup>rd<\/sup> puppy was delivered 10 minutes after the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> puppy. And once again Bella cleaned this puppy. Bella was becoming a professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 4<sup>th<\/sup> puppy was delivered 10 minutes after the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> puppy. And the 5<sup>th<\/sup> puppy was delivered 10 minutes after the 4th puppy. Bella was amazing, completely calm and handling everything like a pro. Bella had delivered five puppies in less than an hour!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The puppies were all nursing from Momma Bella. It was quiet and calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I could not help but wonder though, was Bella finished? Or was there one more puppy waiting to make an arrival?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Approximately 1 hour passed and then Bella surprised me with her 6<sup>th<\/sup> and final puppy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was such an exciting moment!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All six puppies were beautiful, healthy, and weighed between 9 and 10 ounces. Watching Bella care for her puppies and seeing them all together with Bella was such a heartwarming sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The experience gave me a whole new appreciation for Bella and for nature\u2019s instincts. Despite all my preparations, Bella handled everything on her own, showing a level of calm and competence that was truly inspiring. She reminded me how amazing animals can be, especially when it comes to motherhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was truly incredible to witness her bring life into the world and care for her puppies so effortlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I feel so lucky to have been part of Bella\u2019s.
